This page is focused on hard failures, those problems that stop you in your tracks. Examples include being unable to connect to the ECU or unable to start your engine at all.

There is apparently a bug in Java's attempt at 2D hardware acceleration on certain platforms. It's *very* rare. We've had, probably, 3 or 4 users report it in 6 years of business. But if you're getting a screen that looks something like the one below, then try the solution here.

The MAF Adj: CombinedFT menu item is one of several tools you can use to help “dial in” your airflow settings. This particular item maps out and averages CombinedFT over a range of closed loop driving conditions to produce a set of adjustments to the current MAF compensation table. It's basically letting the ECU track how much adjustment it needs under various conditions and then moves that adjustment into the MAF compensation table.

This extension does a simple calculation of the TPS adjustments necessary for a given datalog. To use this function, just grab a log with throttle position data (TPSVolts or ThrotPos) ranging from fully closed (foot completely off the throttle) to fully open (foot to the floor). The engine does not have to be running to capture this data. Note that with ECMLink installed in your ECU, throttle position data is always captured so you do not have to manually add anything to the captured values l…

ECMLink (V3) Datalog Extensions

There are a few “extensions” defined to the datalog view for an ECMLink device. These extensions are intended to provide help for many common tuning adjustments.

	* MAF Adj: CombinedFT - provides a starting point for MAF compensation based on logged combined fuel trim
	* TPS Adj - provides a TPS adjustment calculator based on full-range throttle position data in a datalog
